Moving to New York, I decided I wasn’t going to bring much. I had one box of clothing sent to my new home and a big suitcase I brought with me on the plane. This was a great decision for me because I got to start all over and rebuild my wardrobe but I also didn’t have the basic things that I needed which wasn’t so good. I’ve recently purchased all my basics for my Workwear wardrobe that would be useful for interviews, networking events or just days when I feel like taking over the world. If you’re a woman who’s a little lost when it comes to work attire, here are a few essential every woman should own.
It is a classic, timeless workwear essential. It will never go out of style.
Timeless Black dress
you have to have that tailored easy to slip on dress for those days when you don’t feel like doing much. A dress is always chic and classy.
A black blazer automatically let folks know you’re about your business lol. seriously, you could thrown on a blazer with a pair of jeans and look like you’re ready to take over the world. Great for interviews, everyday work attire and a fashionable statement piece.
Black & nude pumps
I am a huge fan of pumps. Not so much since I’ve moved to New York but I still think their a closet essential. They give you a extra boost of confidence from the height or maybe that’s just for my short ladies! You cant go wrong with a basic nude or black pump. It’s an easy go to shoe, that looks professional, for my ladies that like heels.
Black is clearly my favorite color. Only certain colors use to be accepted as professional but I’m glad style in the workplace is expanding. Any solid navy, nude or black flat is appropriate and easy to pair.
Black or nude would be a go to for me. You have to have one specific tote for work that you can put with most of your workwear.
A nice pair of pants are essential to your work wardrobe. You can put it with you blazer for interviews or other very professional settings. You could also put multiple different tops with black pants that create an entirely new outfit.
